What is The Wilmington Search?

The Wilmington Search is a local real estate blog covering the real estate market of Wilmington.

The Wilmington Search is not a marketing gimmick or trick. Many agents today are using blogs as just one more form of advertisement.

Do you use ghost writers?

Often real estate agents who learn about blogs like the idea, but can’t fathom taking the time required to produce a quality blog.

So what do they do?

They hire ghost writers to write for them. We do not do this on The Wilmington Search.Ghost writer tricker treating

We feel that ghost writers undermine the whole idea of a professional blog. A real estate blog should feature the knowledge and insight of the agent whose name is associated with the blog. Why would readers want to gain local insight on the real estate market from a professional writer posing as the actual real estate agent. We can understand hiring ghost writers for adcopy, but blogs are designed as personal publishing platforms, not marketing gimmicks.

Another use of ghostwriters is to utilize the services of bloggers who will give a supposed recomendation for a company on their (what appears to be) personal blog. This is actually a paid advertisement and is used to increase higher search engine results. We feel this is also a bit ingenuous and is not a practice that is utilized with The Wilmington Search.

We believe real estate blogs that are written to benefit the consumer first can be both a great benefit to the consumer doing online research as well as benefit the real estate business producing the blog. Most of our clients come from our readership here on The Wilmington Search. Over and over again we are told how valuable the information has been and that they can tell we know what we are talking about.
