Bear with me. Instead of waiting until I have mastered shooting video (which is not likely to happen any time soon), I decided to go ahead and start posting what I have so far. I plan to shoot video of lots of different places around Wilmington NC so that you can get a better idea about the area.
As you can see from the ad at the end of the video, the camera is a flip video camera. I wanted something simple and convenient. If the video feature seems to be popular, I plan to look into better equipment.
Oh yeah, if the music is annoying, you can mute the sound.
After viewing the video, how about leaving a comment of places around Wilmington you would like to see. If you do not live in the area and you are thinking of moving to Wilmington NC, this can be a great opportunity to go sight seeing from the comfort of your computer screen! I will try to get footage of the places you request over the next few months. But keep in mind, my real estate clients come first!

This video is part of a project I began a month ago. Historic Downtown Wilmington NC has a variety of condominium opportunities. Over the next few months, I plan to continue my series on Live Where You Shop that I began in December ‘07. I am including downtown Wilmington in this series because of the big plans for historic downtown’s future. From what I understand from local news reports as well as talking with Central Business District (CBD) business owners and real estate investors, the ultimate goal for downtown is to have a self contained community where residents can get everything they need by either walking or hopping on the free Trolley. Presently, residents downtown must jump into the car to get things like groceries and prescription medicine (the only drugstore downtown just recently closed).
There are many new condo developments that have recently been built and many more that are in the planning stages. In addition to these new developments to historic downtown, there are many renovated condos above the retail commercial spaces on Front St. and Water St.
In this video, the brick building with the Port City Java coffee shop below is one of the renovated condominiums of downtown Wilmington. North Front Street Condos are very urban for a southeastern coastal city and off the beaten path. The entrance is subtle and the condos are very chic. Many have exposed brick walls and restored hardwood floors and are perfect for the modern interior design. Residents can walk downstairs to the Port City Java coffee shop for a cup of coffee and wifi internet or stroll across the street to get a deli sandwich at the Cotton Exchange. Did I mention the Riverwalk is a block away?
This is one of my favorite spots to go work or relax when I have free time.
Again, let me know your thoughts or advice on the video.
